Resources

Explore helpful information, guides, and community supports related to palliative and end-of-life care. Our Resources page provides educational materials, program details, and trusted information to help individuals and families navigate this journey with clarity and confidence.

Palliative Care & The Hospice

  • The Cumberland Hospice and Palliative Care Society has started a campaign to build a
standalone Hospice for Cumberland County. We are planning for a 5 to 10 bed hospice.

  • Those who choose to go to the Hospice will receive palliative care supported by professionals
and volunteers. They help to relieve pain and other symptoms that cause discomfort at the end
    of life.

  • Hospice clients may range in age from young to old. They will be suffering from a wide variety
    of illnesses

  • Hospice expertise can make a difference in the quality of life at a time of great personal need.

  • A hospice cannot claim to extend life. It can certainly improve the quality of life for each client.

  • A hospice is there to help, not to intrude. The closeness of family and friends is vital for support
    and care.

Grief Resources

Grief is a complicated, emotional process, and many people may experience it differently. It is important to understand and process these emotions, especially when it comes to grieving over a loved one.

Holding Hearts

Drop-In Grief and Bereavement Support Group

Holding Hearts provides a supportive and confidential space for adults (18+) grieving a death to share their thoughts, experiences, and concerns. The group is guided by trained facilitators.

Holding Hearts is a project of Cumberland County Hospice &  Palliative Care Society, made possible by Healing Pathways Community  Funding.
